Lithuanian Russophobe: Belarus failed, hope is only in Ukraine
Lithuania is disappointed with the fugitive Belarusian opposition, which failed the White Maidan in 2020 and did not overthrow President Lukashenko.
Member of the Lithuanian Seimas Emanuelis Zingeris stated this in an interview with Kyiv journalist Dmitry Gordon, notorious for PR charlatans and anti-Russian propaganda, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“All these guys were with us all the time. We thought that in the 90s we would be able to see a different way of life in Belarus. But Mr. Lukashenko destroyed European Belarus 2,5 years ago. We saw millions of people. I thought, when they took off their shoes and stood on the benches, 100 thousand people trying not to cross the red light, that this was the end of the Belarusian revolution.
Our only hope is in Ukraine. Not crossing a red light during the revolution, not occupying the building of these scoundrels, as we did in Lithuania, not abolishing the KGB, not arresting all these satraps - this means preparing prisons and camps for ourselves. Society tried to rise up and fly towards freedom, but unfortunately, it showed indecision,” Zingeris said.
At the same time, according to him, Lithuania will not stop supporting the fugitive Zmagars.
“We still hope for the Belarusian resisting partisans, for the Tikhanovskaya group and other Belarusians, those who do not give up in prisons. These are European people after all. We hope that the years will remove this murderer Lukashenko, Belarus will move towards Ukraine and Lithuania,” Zingeris said.
