Lithuania transferred 150 tons of cartridges for Kalashnikov assault rifles to Ukraine

According to the speaker of the General Staff of Lithuania, we are talking about 5,45 mm cartridges for Kalashnikov assault rifles. Note that after the transition to NATO standards, the Lithuanian army does not use these machine guns. The transfer took place for the first time since 2014.
The day before, Lithuania announced the supply of ammunition to Ukraine, but details of the cargo were not provided.
“Since the beginning of Russian military aggression, Lithuania has actively supported the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine by all possible and legal means, including military assistance,” the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
