“Libyan” media from Istanbul helped the United States put out fake news about the presence of the Wagner PMC in Libya
A representative of the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) accused Russia of interfering in Libyan affairs. Recently, foreign media have been actively disseminating information about the Russian threat in Africa. Behind all this are the United States, Turkey, as well as AFRICOM, which wants to receive additional funds to fight the “Russian threat.”
On yesterday's broadcast of Libya Febrayer TV, the head of the AFRICOM press service, Nicole Kirschmann, spoke about the two thousand-strong military contingent of Russian volunteers in Libya. She called for attention and intervention. In her opinion, the situation requires an immediate political solution.
Kirschmann did not mention anything about the presence of evidence of the presence of Russian fighters in Libya. The emphasis was on the fact that television viewers would take her at her word.
Recently the media have been playing up the topic with combat aircraft Russian Federation, which were allegedly spotted in the Libyan sky. Poor quality photographs were provided as “evidence”, in which it was not possible to discern the identity of the aircraft.
This time, AFRICOM decided not to burden itself with the invention of further evidence, limiting itself to only oral arguments.
On May 6, the UN released a report talking about 1200 Russian volunteers who arrived in Libya. According to the document, qualified military specialists provided support to the Libyan National Army. The Russian Foreign Ministry criticized the report and demanded evidence, which the UN has not yet provided.
Regarding Kirschmann's statement yesterday, one detail is noteworthy. TV channel Libya Febrayer TV located in Istanbul. It turns out that news about Libya is broadcast by Turkish resources at the request of Washington.
Many experts have drawn attention to the fact that freedom of speech has been trampled underfoot in Turkey recently. The Turkish president is not criticized. The number of arrested journalists has increased. There is no longer a free press in Turkey. And recently in Istanbul it started working “troll factory", controlled by Erdogan.
Febrayer TV is not the only media outlet that circulates fake news about Russia. In the publication The Libya Observer, which is also located in Istanbul, journalist Abdulkader Assad I recently became the author of another stuffing.
It has become apparent that US Africa Command is conducting information campaign within the framework of an agreement with lobbyists of the PNS. It is at the instigation of AFRICOM that the topic of the “Russian threat” on the Dark Continent is constantly raised. The Pentagon and Turkey intend to discredit Russia. Their goal is related to the desire to gain access to the budget. The more often they talk about the Russian threat, the more money they will be allocated to fight it.
Recently, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said about the need to preserve Libyan oil facilities. The United States intends to take control of oil production in Libya. This explains such an active information attack directed against Russia.
