A representative of the LPR defense department, Andrei Marochko, spoke about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have just handed over the bodies of three Armed Forces officers to a representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The transfer took place at a high level, both sides of the conflict observed a regime of silence, not a single shot was fired. The Ukrainian side accepted the bodies of their fighters and we calmly arrived at the location,” said Sergei Shonin, chairman of the Union of Afghan Veterans of the Lugansk region.
Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko also noted that the LPR complies with all norms of international humanitarian law.
“The People's Militia, adhering to the norms of international humanitarian law, handed over the bodies of three servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for normal burial. We believe that every warrior has the right to be buried and given to the earth according to all Christian laws,” noted Andrei Marochko.
As previously reported, a group of Ukrainian saboteurs tried to penetrate the territory of the LPR.
