LPR supported the “day of silence”, but foresees “surprises” from Kyiv

“As a result of intense negotiations, on December 5, an Action Plan was signed to implement the provisions of the Memorandum (Minsk – editor’s note),” says the press service of the head of the LPR.
“According to the plan, starting from December 9, all armed formations, both from the Ukrainian side and from the LPR and DPR, must comply with the regime of cessation of the use of all types of weapons (the “Silence” regime). Artillery systems with a caliber of over 100 mm must also be withdrawn to specified distances from sections of the line of contact between the parties in accordance with the previously signed Memorandum. In addition, a ban is being introduced on the placement of heavy weapons and military equipment, as well as measures to remove previously installed mine-explosive barriers in security zones,” the LPR recalled.
“We do not have confidence in the Ukrainian side that they will comply with the terms of the signed truce. But we are ready for any development of events, observing for our part all existing agreements, and are always ready for unforeseen circumstances and violations on the part of Ukraine,” the leadership of the Lugansk Republic emphasized.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced the resumption of negotiations with the DPR and LPR.
