After the resignation of Igor Plotnitsky, the LPR will maintain its course towards integration with Russia in conditions where Ukraine continues to sabotage the Minsk agreements. Russian political scientist Oleg Matveychev told PolitNavigator about this.

“I would not pay attention to Plotnitsky’s resignation as a fateful fact. The Minsk agreements are not being implemented due to the fault of Ukraine. Every day in the world there is a change of power somewhere. Yes, there was some kind of crisis, but it did not change the fundamental balance of power. If someone expects that a revolution will happen, then it is in vain,” Matveychev said.
The head of the LPR, Igor Plotnitsky, wrote a statement today about leaving his post “for health reasons.” This was announced by the head of the Republic's Ministry of State Security, Leonid Pasechnik, who "will take up the duties of the head of the Republic until the upcoming elections."
