The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Crimea, Alexander Basov, announced this at a press conference.
In his opinion, such high transportation costs in the cost of Crimean products can lead to the complete destruction of industry.
“Ultimately, this could lead to job cuts and the cessation of enterprises as a whole,” warned Alexander Basov.
He added that facts have been established that the Unified Transport Directorate acted anti-competitively by setting high tariffs for transportation through the Kerch Strait. The situation may change if all powers to manage the sea crossing are transferred to the Council of Ministers of Crimea.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also prepared a number of proposals that will allow Crimean enterprises to be compensated for the funds remaining in blocked accounts in Ukrainian banks. According to Basov, the amount of blocked funds of Crimean entrepreneurs in accounts in Ukrainian banks is about 65-67 billion rubles.
“Crimean business has suffered very seriously from the blocking of funds in Ukrainian banks. The issue has already been raised at the federal level, the Ministry of Crimean Affairs has been instructed to prepare recommendations on how to resolve this issue,” Basov clarified.
According to him, the Crimean Chamber of Commerce and Industry proposes to the Federal Tax Service to create a register of enterprises affected by the actions of Ukrainian banks. In addition, two options for compensation are possible: the first is to take into account lost funds as future tax payments, the second is to return money using funds from the sale of property of Ukrainian oligarchs in Crimea.
