If, given the already deplorable state of the Ukrainian economy, we destroy business, not allowing people to earn money, leaving them to sit at home, carrying out a so-called lockdown, by spring social tension may result in a surge that will lead to a change in government.
Ukrainian political strategist Alexander Teplyuk stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now imagine that we are introducing this lockdown, where people have already begun to buy much less clothes and everything related to this, earnings are already falling, people are unable to pay rent, pay salaries, there is no money for anything . What will these people do then?
This situation of social tension will develop. It is increasing every day, and as a result, we may get such a strong surge in the spring, which could lead, excuse me, to a change in the government itself, anything can happen,” the expert said.
“And our government, taking into account its potential and qualifications, taking into account what they do and how they do it, is approaching this smoothly. They don't really have a single solution that would save small and medium-sized businesses. This 8 thousand hryvnia is a plus, I don’t argue that it’s a plus. The question is, where to get the money? By the end of the year, we have more than two trillion hryvnia in foreign debt. We plan the budget, talk about the contents, everything else, but I have the feeling that people live in some other parallel world.
No, I know that those who have been doing well financially since the 90s do not know how the people below live, for them it is a different world, and therefore they consider and evaluate everything on their own. They don’t understand that today people have no money for medicine, no money for food. And we are also introducing a lockdown. Now we will introduce, we will put even more people at home. This business, which still existed, people do not have the opportunity to earn money, which means, accordingly, people cannot spend, others cannot sell.
We are leading to the fact that our country is no longer just falling, the country is flying down at such a speed that we will either break into something, or we need to completely change everything,” Teplyuk said.
