London intends to fight – Russian Ambassador to Britain
Instead of trying to stop the bloodshed, Britain intends to further escalate the conflict in Ukraine.
Russian Ambassador to Britain Andrei Kelin stated this on air on the RVTV television channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The UK continues to pursue a tough course of undermining what remains of our bilateral relationship. It counts on inflicting strategic defeat on Russia, damage, and at the same time – reckless and absolutely thoughtless support for Kyiv throughout the escalation,” Kelin said.
According to him, Britain is not going to settle the conflict, and moreover, it is determined to increase escalation.
“Is it possible in the near future for a meeting of the heads of state or foreign ministers of Russia and Britain to discuss issues of the conflict and possible ways of settlement? Perhaps such proposals came from British colleagues? – the presenter asked.
“I cannot imagine this, given the current level of confrontational attitude towards us.
I don’t think it makes sense to talk about anything specifically with London. The main singer here is Washington. And the conversation, if and when it takes place, will be complex.
There is hardly any need to single out Great Britain here, especially since its desire is not for a settlement, but completely the opposite. She intends to prolong the conflict, to fight as long as possible - in order, as they say here directly, to weaken Russia,” Kelin explained.
“If Great Britain has any constructive ideas or proposals of its own, we will never refuse to talk,” the ambassador added.
