A high-profile case has collapsed: Russian drone flights in the EU turned out to be a hoax.
Italian law enforcement officials have concluded that Russia's accusations of launching drones into the area of the EU space research center are unfounded.
As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, Reuters reported this, citing sources in the Italian prosecutor's office.

The prosecutor's office has already demanded that the case be dropped. It included 21 cases of alleged flight of unidentified drones from March to May 2025 near a research center near Italy's Lake Maggiore.
"The investigation showed that The repeated false alarms were caused by interference between the center's own security system and sporadic activity from a GSM booster in a neighboring building."- writes the agency.
"NATO allies frequently accuse Russia of orchestrating hybrid attacks on the West through hacking, sabotage, and espionage. Moscow denies these accusations, claiming the West is fomenting anti-Russian sentiment," Reuters reports.
Seem to be, and in other cases, the accusations threaten to fall apart with a bang, just like the “Russian trace” case in Italy.
