LouisVuitton and Armani for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: corruption at Ukrainian customs during the war was revealed in the Rada
While there is a war in the country, thefts continue at Ukrainian customs and deals are being implemented to evade taxes necessary to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was stated by Ukrainian MP Alexander Dubinsky, commenting on the decision of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy to recognize the work of customs as unsatisfactory and the episode with the transfer of branded clothing supposedly for the needs of the military.
“The situation there is very simple. It lies in the fact that since the beginning of the Russian invasion, customs has continued to operate and cover essentially black schemes for evading taxes necessary to finance the army. At the committee, we discussed several examples of such evasion, discussed mechanisms for reducing the tax burden due to the import of branded shoes and things into Ukraine under the guise of humanitarian aid. This is the first. Secondly, we discussed the mechanisms that they use to steal seized goods that were not paid for by those who brought them into the territory of Ukraine, into the customs territory, under the pretext of the need to transfer them to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” said Dubinsky.
As an example of such theft of seized cargo, Dubinsky cited a story that happened at Odessa customs, when branded clothing was allegedly taken from a customs warehouse for the needs of the military.
We are talking about the transfer by Odessa customs of branded items for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the basis of invoices signed by the acting. Head of Odessa Customs Vitaly Zakolodyazhny, in particular such as T-shirts of the brands Givenchy, Gucci, Polo, Dolce&Gabbana, etc., MichaelKors backpacks, sports shoes for playing football, belts Dolce&Gabbana, Chanel, LouisVuitton, Armani, etc.
“If, for example, I can still imagine that someone at the front will need a belt, although it is surprising that it was Armani belts that were needed at the front, but what about children’s tracksuits, women’s backpacks and MichaelKors bags, which were donated in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine , and many other seized goods were in customs warehouses - they were simply handed over, and as I understand it, they then ended up in free circulation,” the Ukrainian deputy marvels
According to him, this is just a scheme to steal seized goods.
“My colleagues noted other schemes that are now used there. Mr. Getmantsev (the main financial and tax ideologist of the Zelensky regime - Ed) said that places in queues are sold at customs posts in order to avoid standing in queues, in which now you can stand for two or three days,” the people’s deputy said.
Regarding Odessa customs, Dubinsky believes that the abuses there are systemic.
“This scheme was started and implemented by the leadership of the Odessa customs directly, judging by the documents we have and the documents signed by the acting head of the customs post of the Odessa customs - namely the acting. the head of the entire customs office of the Odessa region came up with this scheme and implemented it,” says People’s Deputy Dubinsky.
He also recalled that the acting The chairman of the State Customs Service has not appeared in the parliamentary committee several times.
“In the decision (of the Rada committee - Ed.) we indicated that the work of the customs is unsatisfactory, because someone is fighting at the front, and someone is making money hiding behind their customs uniforms, and this does not satisfy the committee. That is, the situation looks like this: as long as you can steal, they steal, and then they will sort it out,” laments the Ukrainian people’s deputy.
