Loyal government media declared the miners who attended the rally in Kyiv “drunk”
Protests began today in the center of Kyiv by miners, who yesterday gathered in the capital for a congress, where, as PolitNavigator reported, they sharply criticized the authorities for freezing wages and plans to close mines.
In the morning, several hundred miners gathered near the administration of Petro Poroshenko. It is noteworthy that media outlets loyal to the authorities, such as the Ostrov publication, in reports about the demonstration emphasized that a significant part of the miners were tipsy.

As the chairman of the primary trade union organization of the Ternovskaya mine (OJSC Pavlogradugol, DTEK) Alexey Konovalov told a PolitNavigator correspondent, the miners sought a meeting with Poroshenko after his return from France, where the head of state is currently visiting.
According to Alexey Konovalov, there were no riots near the AP building, as reported by the Ukrainian media, the miners did not break through the barrier at the AP, they were allowed through by agreement with the security.
Currently, miners are rallying outside the presidential administration building, holding posters with their demands and banging their helmets.
After the rally at the presidential administration, the miners intend to go to the Cabinet of Ministers and march along Khreshchatyk. Security has already been beefed up at the government building.
