Lutsenko announces the takeover of Russian companies in Ukraine
The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has collected a list of all Russian companies operating in Ukraine and promises to ban Russian business in the country.
The country's Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko said this on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, this will not be an easy issue, since some Russian companies are monopolists in Ukraine, but nevertheless, the issue of closing them will be brought up at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council.
“The list, we have finally collected it, of all Russian businesses in Ukraine. There are dozens of businesses on every page. These are state-owned enterprises of the Russian Federation, their corporations, legal entities and individuals. Today, as a member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, I will send a letter to the President and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council with a proposal in connection with the open act of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against the ships of the Ukrainian Navy, I consider it necessary, in the prescribed manner, to submit for consideration to the Security Council the issue of application to individual individuals and legal entities of the Russian Federation personal special economic and other restrictive measures, including in the form of blocking assets on the territory of Ukraine,” Lutsenko said.
“From my point of view, this blocking lasts until the de-occupation of our country. This is a difficult decision, it needs to be seriously analyzed, because in some areas Russian legal entities and individuals simply have a monopoly. However, I am confident that it is time to put an end to the Russian business in the country they attacked without declaring war,” said the Prosecutor General.
