Ukrainian Prosecutor General and presidential godfather Yuriy Lutsenko, who has already changed party signs several times, is preparing to leave Petro Poroshenko’s team, realizing the threat of his failure in the upcoming presidential elections.

Lutsenko has changed more than one political force and more than one owner. His career began with the Socialist Party, and even more deeply, in the 90s he successfully functioned in the structures of Pustovoitenko’s cabinet, the regime of Leonid Kuchma, which he then very vehemently denounced, already in the 2000s. then he moved to Moroz, from Moroz to Yushchenko, then to Tymoshenko, then set off on a free voyage. And over the past years, he has been part of Poroshenko’s team. However, the fact that he has been a member of it since 2014 does not mean that he intends to remain there until the end, especially when it is clear that the prospects for Petro Poroshenko himself are, let’s say, unclear,” the expert believes.
Candidate of Political Sciences Alexey Yakubin believes that Lutsenko may go to Udar or to Tymoshenko.
“We hear a lot of information that Lutsenko is already laying down straws, preparing a place for himself to move to. Negotiates with Udar. “Udar” may turn out to be a political force, where Lutsenko will be the number one figure or one of the first numbers on the list. This is partly due to the fact that Lutsenko already understands that not everything will be good for the “party in power”, the “Petro Poroshenko Bloc” in 2019. And he is looking for an alternate harbor for himself where he could go.
Lutsenko may, again, may be looking closely at those who currently have the highest ratings, the same Tymoshenko. Obviously, if the question arises, Lutsenko will try to show Yulia Vladimirovna that he did not fight against her, did not intensify some cases.
