Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko announced this on his Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As a result of a joint operation of the GPU with the “K” of the SBU, 5 people were detained in Nikolaev, including the leader of a stable criminal organization, Titov, known in the criminal environment as “Multik,” Lutsenko wrote.
According to the Prosecutor General, the detainees are suspected of creating a criminal organization, which during 2008-2017 was engaged in death threats, imprisonment of people, racketeering, raiding, car theft, embezzlement of property and public funds.
“At the same time, members of the organized crime group established control over the activities of political parties and influenced decision-making by officials of state authorities and local self-government, supported a stable hierarchical association in places of deprivation of liberty in the Nikolaev region,” Lutsenko clarified.
“As I promised, in the territory of the Nikolaev region only children should remember the Cartoon before going to bed,” added Lutsenko.
