Lutsenko: SBU and Ministry of Internal Affairs will detain Saakashvili
The operational units of the SBU and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been tasked with detaining ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, who was repulsed yesterday by a crowd while attempting to be detained by security forces on charges of preparing a coup.
Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko stated this in the Verkhovna Rada, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Both I and their leadership have set the task to make the situation as mild as possible regarding other citizens of Ukraine who, unlike Saakashvili, think about the country, and not about his personal ambitions,” Lutsenko said.
According to him, Saakashvili himself acted harshly in Georgia and without a doubt dispersed opposition rallies.
“What happens next with Saakashvili depends on him. Today the police absolutely legally came to Saakashvili to detain him and send him to an investigator. However, he and a group of militants who surrounded him seized the Verkhovna Rada committee, which is located on the territory of the Kyiv hotel. They broke down the doors and threw out one employee of the State Security Administration, who was guarding the state premises. And there he deigned to rest... We are patient. No matter how much the rope twists, it will still lead to the investigator,” Lutsenko assured.
