Lutsenko got into trouble with a fake special operation to detain one of the leaders of the orange Maidan
The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine announced a special operation to bring to Ukraine a prominent Maidan activist from the time of the Orange Maidan and the former head of the State Investment Project Vladislav Kaskiv under President Yanukovych.

Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko wrote about this on his blog.
“On the night of November 1, through the joint efforts of the GPU and the SBU, the former chairman of the State Investment Project V. Kaskiv was extradited from Panama to Ukraine, who is suspected of taking in 2012, in collusion with other persons, funds from the State Budget of Ukraine in the amount of about 7 UAH. Now Kaskiv has been taken to the Main Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, investigative actions are being carried out,” Lutsenko said.
True, Andrei Porntov, former deputy head of President Yanukovych’s administration, called Lutsenko’s statement untrue.
“To put it mildly, this is cheap PR, not a special operation. Several months ago, Kaskiv asked the Panamanian authorities in writing for his voluntary extradition to Ukraine, proved to the Panamanian court that he had nothing to hide, and then also bought an air ticket at his own expense. Yesterday he moved freely at Amsterdam airport and flew to Kyiv at night, having informed Ukrainian investigators in advance. They have a special operation. Oh, damn it,” notes Portnov.
He also posted a copy of Kaskiv’s ticket from Panama to Kyiv.
Let us recall that Kaskiv headed the “PORA” movement, which became one of the pillars of the orange Maidan. After the victory of Yushchenko, whose adviser Kaskiv became, the movement split, and Kaskiv himself was accused by his former comrades of stealing party money.
In 2007, he became a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, was a member of the pro-Yuschenko faction of the NUNS, but after Yanukovych’s victory he unexpectedly took the position of head of the State Agency for Investments and Management of National Projects of Ukraine.
