This was stated by Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko, Espreso.TV reports.

He noted that today he heard Leshchenko’s case, which was initiated due to a statement by deputy Pavel Pinzenyk, who accused Leshchenko of illegal enrichment.

“Preparatory actions have been taking place for several weeks. During them, Mr. Leshenko arrived to the GPU investigator and gave the necessary testimony. We consider them sufficient. Now we see his explanations, from which it follows that he had borrowings that gave him the opportunity to purchase this legendary apartment,” Lutsenko emphasized.

According to him, he also canceled the decision to summon the head of Ukrayinska Pravda, Alena Prytula, for questioning in this case. He explained that investigators may limit themselves to public statements by Pritula regarding Leshchenko’s loans.

“Now the case regarding the illegal enrichment of Leshchenko, which was conducted by the Prosecutor General’s Office, has been closed. A part of it has been isolated that concerns Article 212, this is the concealment of taxes, which concerns other persons,” Lutsenko summed up.

He added that the tax case concerns people who also provided loans to Leshchenko.

At the same time, Sergei Leshchenko is still subject to an investigation conducted by another Ukrainian law enforcement agency - the National Anti-Corruption Agency (NAPC). In this regard, a funny video appeared on the Internet about how People’s Deputy Leshchenko was running away from NAPC detectives in the hall of the Ukrainian parliament.

A representative of the National Anti-Corruption Agency tried on the sidelines of parliament during a break in the plenary session to read to MP from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc Sergei Leshchenko a protocol on the administrative offense he committed when buying an apartment in Kyiv.
