The best employee of the Estonian intelligence service turned out to be a Russian spy
The Estonian Security Police (KAPO) detained its ex-employee Vladimir Kulikov on suspicion of espionage for Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Baltic publication Delfi.
In the 1990s, Kulikov was considered one of the best employees of KAPO.
This information was made public during the presentation of the Security Police yearbook for 2018,
It is noted that Kulikov began collaborating with Russian intelligence services after retiring from KAPO in 2012. After that, he began working as a judo coach. Contact with him was established during his visit to Russia.
As Err.ee clarifies, KAPO General Director Arnold Sinisalu said that Kulikov was detained on March 26, and is currently under arrest. Details of the charges are not being released as the investigation continues.
While working at KAPO, Kulikov was awarded the Order of the Eagle Cross. Once he was recognized as employee of the year.
