Kyiv, July 22 (Navigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – Security Council Secretary Andrei Parubiy believes that tens of thousands of local residents will take to the streets of besieged cities to drive away pro-Russian militants and dismantle the barricades, the official said on Channel 5.

“Everywhere we receive very serious support from local residents, who inform us by all available means of communication about the locations of the militants, their movements, etc. Taking control of cities like Lugansk and Donetsk will, of course, be very difficult. Moreover, we know that terrorists place their bases in residential buildings and residential areas. Therefore, I really hope for the civilians who are already asking not to turn Donetsk into a new Slavyansk, and understand well that they are trying to zombify them with separatist propaganda.
When these thousands or tens of thousands of people take to the streets and simply begin to dismantle the barricades, the terrorists will simply have no choice but to get out. Therefore, I think that with the help of local residents we will soon take these cities,” the Security Council Secretary shared.
