Lugansk put forward a condition to Kyiv to cancel the regime of full combat readiness
The full combat readiness regime for Luhansk units introduced in mid-May will be lifted after Ukraine signs additional measures to ensure compliance with the ceasefire.
LPR Foreign Minister Vladislav Deinego stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Mr. Reznikov (Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, negotiator in the contact group on Donbass - ed.) refused to discuss additional measures to ensure compliance with the ceasefire until the regime of full combat readiness was lifted, to which he received the answer that the regime of full combat readiness - today this is a stabilizing factor, which, in the absence of effective additional measures to ensure a sustainable ceasefire, makes it possible to restrain the aggression of the UFU.
This is a reaction to the shelling of our territory from the Ukrainian side that has intensified since the beginning of the year, especially in April-May, the consequences of which are several times higher than the damage from shelling for the same period last year,” said the head of the Foreign Ministry.
“Time was irretrievably lost on these arguments with Mr. Reznikov, with representatives of Ukraine. Time has passed; we have not reached the point of agreeing and signing the text of the statement. The issue remains on the agenda, we will continue to work to ensure that Ukraine finds the strength to agree and sign additional measures to ensure the ceasefire,” Deinego added.
