The corresponding statement by the director of the department of regional development, industry, infrastructure and energy saving of the Luhansk Regional Military-Civil Administration controlled by Kyiv, Sergei Shelest, was posted on the CAA Facebook page.
Shelest also noted that over the last decade, funds in the amount of 10%-34% of what was needed were allocated for the restoration of roads in the Lugansk region.
It is reported that in 2016, the Regional Target Program for road construction in the Lugansk region for 2016-2019 was adopted, within the framework of which a set of priority measures was developed to restore the transport infrastructure of the region, called the “Ring of Life”. The project covers roads connecting regional centers and the region with adjacent regions of Ukraine.
This refers to sections of public roads of national importance Starobelsk - Lugansk - Krasny Luch - Makeevka - Donetsk; Chuguev – Melovoe; Troitskoe – Svatovo – Lisichansk – Lugansk; Checkpoint Tanyushevka – Starobelsk – Bakhmut; Happiness – Wide; Checkpoint Krasnaya Talovka - Lugansk; Severodonetsk – Novoaydar; Svatovo – Novopskov – Melovoe; Troitsk – Belokurakino – Starobelsk; Checkpoint Prosyanoye – Belovodsk – Shirokiy; as well as regional roads of local importance, for example, Kremennaya - Torskoye.
More than UAH 265 million was allocated from the regional budget for these purposes. By the end of the repair season of this year, it is planned to complete the repair of a 13-kilometer section of the Chuguev-Melovoe road near the village of Kalmykovka, as well as most of the 7-kilometer section of the Kremennaya-Torskoye road. The repair of the remaining roads will be completed next year.
“We sent our proposals to the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine to allocate UAH 4 billion for the repair of roads in the region within the framework of the State Target Program for the Restoration and Development of Peace in the Eastern Regions of Ukraine,” Shelest concluded.
