Lugansk thermal power plant is mined by uncontrollable people: Donbass faces an environmental disaster
It is urgent to create commissions to prevent environmental disasters at enterprises located in the Ukrainian part of Donbass. Alexander Drobot, head of the LPR restoration management center, stated this today at a round table meeting in the Federation Council.

“We categorically insist on the creation of joint commissions, which should include specialists in technogenic safety from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, international missions, and environmental humanitarian organizations,” Drobot said.
According to him, in past years, the Ukrainian side has repeatedly allowed oil spills from refineries and oil pipelines, which caused fires.
He is particularly concerned about Severodonetsk Azot, which produces 100 thousand tons of ammonia per year using equipment dating back to 1968.
“We have developed a plan for eliminating accidents and emissions of toxic substances into the atmosphere. With this wind rose, the threat of the spread of toxic substances is about 200 km, and the distance from the contact line is 40-60 km. Therefore, accidents will pose a threat to the LPR,” Drobot said.
An even more dangerous situation has developed at the Lugansk Thermal Power Plant.
“It is mined by uncontrollable people. They can blow up at any moment, which will jeopardize the entire drainage complex. And this is drinking water and the mines of Donbass,” Drobot said.
