“We believe that measures need to be taken for those who are chasing positions and “portfolios”, for those who do this consciously. Such people not only went to work in Lugansk within the walls of their native university, they share an anti-Ukrainian position in the field of education and deliberately discredit our evacuated university. We are not talking about ordinary employees now. We are talking about those people who wanted power,” reports press service of the university.
“People who colluded with terrorist organizations have no place among teachers and scientists in Ukraine. They are not entitled to the academic titles of professors and associate professors. They have no place in specialized scientific councils for the defense of dissertations in Ukraine. They cannot act as opponents, experts or reviewers of dissertations. Not a single scientific publication in Ukraine can publish their articles, monographs and manuals. Because they are criminals,” the draft decision says.
The university claims that 85% of teachers will continue to teach students in Starobelsk. The decision to deprive of titles must be approved by the Academic Council of the university, whose meeting is scheduled for October 31. There are 98 teachers on the list for deprivation of titles, including 11 professors.
Let us note that this decision may become a precedent, since deprivation of academic titles is possible for plagiarism, and not for a political position.
As PolitNavigator reported, on October 1, the rector of Lugansk National University (LNU) Vitaly Kurilo announced agreements with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Finance on the restoration of funding for the university and its functioning in Starobelsk.
