The plant needs pressing equipment, automatic rotary and rotary-conveyor lines with a capacity of 60 to 200 cartridges per minute. The corresponding procurement announcement was published on the plant’s official website.
“We can conclude that the Lugansk Cartridge Plant cannot cope with replenishing the mobilization reserves of the 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the LPR and DPR, so it needed additional equipment. LPZ is the only plant in Ukraine that produces ammunition for military weapons,” the publication recalls.
According to the authors of the material, the plant can now produce approximately 100 million rounds of ammunition annually throughout the year. For comparison: during two and a half years of the First World War, the Russian army used up 4,1 billion rifle cartridges. Since then, the rate of fire of weapons has increased many times.
