“Elena Lukash is not being released from the pre-trial detention center, despite the bail that was paid for her yesterday immediately after the court’s decision. You can explain this in any way. The treasury branch was closed on Saturday, the mistake of the national bank, which yesterday rejected the payment several times, the absence of the responsible persons of the detention center from the workplace, or weekends.
But it is absolutely obvious that a lawyer is not allowed to see her and she is not released precisely because of a political decision.
I think that the main government scarecrow, who made this decision, should know that to all his crimes another element was added - illegal imprisonment.
I am sure that I have every moral right to demand this, because in 2012 we achieved the release of exactly half of all people in custody from all pre-trial detention centers in the country, doing this both on weekends and after hours,” Portnov noted.
