Lukashenko: Belarus will improve its rocket science with the help of Ukraine
Belarus wants to gain access to Ukrainian technology to create its own missiles.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated this today, speaking at the Forum of Regions of Ukraine and Belarus in Zhitomir, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Your defense industry is very highly developed: rocketry, aircraft manufacturing. Today, on the topic of the day, we got seriously involved in rocket science. We had never done this before in Soviet times. Life pushed me towards this. You have this school. Please help us. We will master this program in one and a half to two years,” Lukashenko said.
In return, he proposes to create the production of tractors and combines in Ukraine.
“You still have the missiles and planes, but we still have a gigantic civilian industry. Therefore, we offer our Ukrainian friends, our brothers: let us come to you with the equipment and production that we have been engaged in since ancient times. Let's create joint ventures. We will develop for you something that has never been developed, but is very necessary. Ukraine is a granary. But without a tractor and a combine harvester it is impossible to harvest. And we have always had this production,” Lukashenko said.
Earlier, Lukashenko said that Belarus must take measures for its security; it has already created a “medium-range missile” and is now planning to develop an even more powerful weapon.
