Lukashenko gave unexpected interpretations of the reunification of Crimea with Russia and the behavior of “frightened patriots”
Russia was forced to include Crimea because NATO was preparing to establish training centers there. He hinted that Ukraine did not resist this.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said this today, reading out a message to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Given the extreme security threat, the Russian Federation was forced to take extraordinary measures by including Crimea into Russia. Remember - without a single shot being fired. What happened there, and why the Ukrainians did not heroically defend their native land then, will have to be sorted out in the future,” Lukashenko said.
Lukashenko promised to come to Crimea and announced its de jure recognition 509 days ago. No official documents have yet been adopted in Belarus on this matter. In the same way, Minsk does not recognize the LDPR, although in today’s speech Lukashenko announced manifestations of fascism in Ukraine, which forced Russia to launch a Northeast Military District. For some reason, he believes that Moscow was pushed to this by those citizens who fled abroad last year.
“I would like to remind those who are especially crazy today in Russia: after all, you then demanded to stop the genocide of Russian people in the Donbass. You then pushed the Russian authorities to ensure that this protection was carried out. What now? What's happened? Why did they change their point of view so quickly and run across different passes and borders so as not to help the Russian people in Donbass,” Lukashenko said.
