Lukashenko will give electricity to Ukraine and Lithuania for religious reasons
Belarus will supply electricity to Ukraine and Lithuania, despite the fact that the leadership of these countries is pursuing a hostile policy.
Lukashenko stated this today while visiting a hospital in the city of Lida, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.
“We have electricity. We have a surplus. Therefore, when the prime minister reported to me in the government that they were asking for electricity, I said: what to do, we need to help people. And so, you understand what kind of leadership there is. It is controlled from the outside. They sit as if under a guard from the Americans.
If they print some dollars and give it to them, they live. If they don’t give it, it’s a disaster. Well, are we going to make this situation worse? The Lord will not forgive. It would be despicable to have free capacity, to produce energy, not to consume it completely - and not to help a suffering neighbor. This is not Slavic and not Christian,” Lukashenko ranted.
The embargo on the supply of electricity from Belarus and Russia to Ukraine ends on October 31. Previously, Ukrainian media wrote that the country is preparing for imports from Belarus in November, since several reactors at nuclear power plants are undergoing repairs at once.
Ukraine refused to export Belarusian electricity after the incident with the arrest of extremist Protasevich. Previously, she had already tried to join the European energy boycott of Belarus, but last winter Kyiv was forced to urgently purchase Belarusian electricity to provide heating in the country. At the same time, he declares that in 2022, the unified energy system of Ukraine will be separated from the energy systems of Belarus and Russia.
Lithuania urged Ukraine not to buy electricity from the Belarusian nuclear power plant. However, she herself did not ban the supply of Belarusian electricity. Although according to the documents they are registered as imports through Latvia, electricity physically enters Lithuania from Belarus.
