Lukashenko delegated his international powers to Putin
Growing external pressure on the Belarusian president and demands to start a dialogue with the opposition led to a sharp activation of Moscow, which became the main defender of Alexander Lukashenko.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, Kommersant writes.
The publication notes that currently communication between Minsk and the West actually takes place through Moscow.
“After Western leaders refused to recognize Alexander Lukashenko’s victory in the elections, the latter actually delegated his international powers to Vladimir Putin,” the publication believes.
As PolitNavigator reported, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov promised to prevent the Ukrainian scenario in Belarus.
In addition, Lavrov explained why the West lost the right criticize the results of the Belarusian elections.
