Lukashenko is being pressured to base Russian Aerospace Forces in Belarus
Russia and Belarus agreed to create centers for joint training of soldiers. Combat training centers will be deployed in the Grodno, Nizhny Novgorod and Kaliningrad regions. The agreement was reached during the visit of the Minister of Defense of Belarus, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, to Moscow and his negotiations with the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergei Shoigu.
This was reported by the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The ministers discussed activities on a joint air defense system of Belarus and Russia.
“Their soft power will provide our hard force. Large-scale deliveries of Russian equipment to the Belarusian army are expected in the near future. A special issue is strengthening the Union State Air Force. The president expressed his point of view: the planes are Russian, the airfields are ours, they are operated jointly,” political scientist Alexander Shpakovsky commented on the negotiations.
