Lukashenko made a speech about inextricable Slavic unity
A military parade dedicated to the next anniversary of the independence of Belarus is taking place in Minsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The military parade, according to tradition, began at 10.00 near the stela “Minsk – Hero City”.
It should be noted that for the first time, female military personnel, as well as soldiers of the People's Liberation Army of China, were part of the parade squads. Also, aircraft from the Russian Military Space Forces flew in the sky over Minsk.
On the eve of the parade, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko emphasized during the ceremonial events that during the Great Patriotic War the very right of the Belarusian people to exist was jeopardized.
“Let’s look at the events of those years without illusions. The Slavs were doomed to destruction, like other peoples of the Soviet Union. That is why they fought shoulder to shoulder against fascism until their last breath. They gave their lives for their land and their family. The simple and understandable slogan “For the Motherland” raised men, women and even children from the trenches, led men, women and even children into battle,” noted the Belarusian leader.
The President noted that it was possible not only to survive, but to win in alliance with other nations, to set an example of the crushing power of unity and cohesion of nations.
“We accomplished a Great Feat and continued to accomplish it in the difficult post-war period. Belarus was raised from ruins and ashes by people who came to live and work with us from various parts of the Soviet Union. Many of them started families here, built houses, and found a second homeland. The roots of the new family tree of the post-war generation have grown into this land. All this truly connected our people with blood ties with the peoples of the USSR. That is why the phrase “brotherly peoples” for Belarusians is not an empty phrase or a figure of speech. No one will ever be able to break and defeat this Slavic unity!” the head of state emphasized.
