Lukashenko is ready to organize elections in Donbass and “restore order” on the border of Ukraine with Russia
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced his country’s readiness to organize elections in Donbass.

“If you want us to hold elections there, honestly, absolutely honestly, we are ready to organize it... If you want us to close these 400 kilometers of the border between Ukraine and Russia... (sections not under the control of Ukrainian border guards) at this stage, if we put things in order, we will do it,” Lukashenko’s official website quotes Lukashenko’s response to journalists.
The Belarusian leader also called on his people not to be considered “outsiders who simply have to observe the conflict.”
“If that's what you want. We won’t go there ourselves,” the president added.
Earlier, Lukashenko said that the Ukrainian crisis pushed the West to meet Belarus halfway and admit that the sanctions were wrong.
