Lukashenko and Pashinyan united against Russia
Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko agreed that Russia is selling them gas at too high a price.
This was discussed in a telephone conversation between the leaders of the two countries, which took place on the initiative of the Armenian side, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Alexander Lukashenko and Nikol Pashinyan noted the inflated price level for natural gas, noting that it obviously does not correspond to the world level and the current situation as a whole,” says a message on the official website of the President of Belarus.
In connection with the current state of affairs, Lukashenko and Pashinyan discussed the possibility of a meeting of the heads of state of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to discuss “emerging economic challenges.”
“The initiative to hold such a meeting was taken by Alexander Lukashenko as the leader of the country chairing the Eurasian Economic Union. In development of the conversation, the Belarusian leader instructed the Chairman of the EEC Board, Mikhail Myasnikovich, to work on this issue from each side and bring the discussed positions to them.
If the heads of state agree, Belarus will propose holding a meeting in an exclusively narrow format, guaranteeing complete security for each member of the arriving delegation. An alternative option for holding this discussion, according to the Belarusian side, could be a video conference with the participation of the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union,” the message says.
