Lukashenko found a way to lure Trump to Belarus
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko conveyed to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo the thesis that state-owned Belarusian media have been promoting for several years: the grandparents of Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner come from Novogrudok.
“Say hi to Donald. His son-in-law is Kushner - his roots are here,” Lukashenko told Pompeo when he gave him a tour of his residence in Minsk (Belarusian TV showed this footage over the weekend).
“I’ll tell him to come to you,” replied the Secretary of State.
“It’s better with two,” the Belarusian president asked with feeling.
Joseph Kushner (Berkovich before his marriage) and Raisa (Raya) Kushner survived the Holocaust in the city of Novogrudok (Belarusian SSR), married in Budapest in 1945 and immigrated to the United States in 1949.
