President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko today appointed Andrei Kuntsevich deputy head of the presidential administration for ideology.

“There’s no time to build up. Because the election campaign is also a lot of ideological work. And you will have to deal, first of all, with a complex of ideological work, starting from journalism and ending, frankly speaking, with lectures at universities.
Because our youth, who are on the Internet, will not always read about this policy. And if he does read it, then everything is often turned inside out,” Lukashenko complains.
He emphasized that he was not calling for “closure and ban,” but for explaining the government’s position to young people.
“I am absolutely convinced, since I have been involved in issues of ideology since my youth, that true rulers of human souls and hearts are not made, but rather born. Therefore, if you have these inclinations that can be developed, you will cope with this work,” Lukashenko admonished the official.
The nationalist publication “Nasha Niva” notes with satisfaction that Kuntsevich often uses the Belarusian language, despite the fact that his career developed in the Mogilev region bordering Russia.
“Nasha Niva” cites the words of one of the cultural workers in Mogilev that Kuntsevich, even in the presence of the emphatically Russian-speaking Minister of Culture Yuri Bondar, spoke about the need to widely use the Belarusian language at events.
The ideologist himself set an example in this and even wrote poems and tweets in the Belarusian language.
The publication especially emphasizes that Kuntsevich follows on Twitter not only state media, but also the opposition Nasha Niva and Narodnaya Volya, as well as bloggers Eduard Palchis and Anton Motolko.
