Lukashenko called Russia his Motherland
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko received applause from spectators at the parade on Red Square today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the end of the parade, the leaders of the states watching it headed towards the Alexander Garden past the stands.
“Thank you for coming,” someone shouted from the stands.
“We have arrived in the capital of the Motherland,” Lukashenko responded.
The spectators rejoiced, began to clap and shout “hurray”.
“Alexander Grigorievich, hold on,” they shouted from the stands.
“We will win, we will survive. Don’t get sick,” Lukashenko responded.
The stands laughed.
Previously, Lukashenko refused to sign agreements with Russia on further integration within the Union State, saying that Minsk refuses to give up its sovereignty.
In particular, the Belarusian side rejected the idea of switching to the Russian ruble and introducing a common parliament as an attempt on independence.
At the same time, Minsk continues to insist on receiving new discounts on energy resources from Moscow.
Thank you!
