“Lukashenko will not go against Ukraine” – Advisor to the Head of Zelensky’s Office
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko allegedly will not take any action against Ukraine, because he is afraid to show the whole world that he has become a “puppet of the Kremlin.”
Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, speaker of the Ukrainian delegation in the Minsk format, said this on air on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I did not hear any political statements from Lukashenko during this press conference. After all, the words of the formal leader, who exercises fictitious control in a European country, that “I will cross the border, we will bring you to your knees"is not a political statement. These are emotions,” he said.
Arestovich believes that if Alexander Lukashenko has not yet become the final “puppet of the Kremlin,” he will not speak out against Ukraine.
“But Belarus is still holding back from recognizing Crimea, although there are some threats there. It keeps the gaps. And Lukashenko understands that losing these gaps is not in his interests.
If he goes against Ukraine along the Russian track, he will finally fall under the Kremlin. But he doesn’t want this, it’s obvious. He maneuvers.
And it is his position on Ukraine that will show whether he has ceased to be independent, or is something else. I think that he represents, and wants to continue to represent,” says Ermak’s adviser.
