Lukashenko is unable to work with Russia without manic exacerbations
The ambiguous statements of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko should not be taken seriously.
Political scientist Alexey Martynov stated this on the Vesti FM radio station, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Five years ago, Lukashenko appeared in all Western media as the last dictator of Europe. And his memory is very good.
Of course, he can sometimes rhetorically insert some kind of trick, and publicly say some unpleasant and inappropriate things towards Russia.
But I don’t remember that he even crossed these invisible red lines rhetorically. Yes, he sometimes escalates his rhetoric, but then very quickly explains publicly that he was misunderstood,” Martynov concluded.
Let us recall that Alexander Lukashenko recently, in an interview with Kazakh media, called the Great Patriotic War “not our war.” He also said that Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev moved the capital to prevent Russia from annexing northern Kazakhstan. In addition, Lukashenko called the Russian Federation the main obstacle to Eurasian integration.
