Lukashenko on sanctions: Cats are resting
Europe is introducing sanctions against Belarus so that Russia will not be able to circumvent the restrictions imposed through it through this country.
President Alexander Lukashenko told reporters about this today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You see these crazy sanctions against Russia in Europe. And we are there for the company, so that Russia does not bypass sanctions through Belarus. What can I say - the cats are resting. We’ll be patient for a year, and then you’ll see: they will come to us, apologize and ask us to cooperate with them,” Lukashenko said.
According to him, under the conditions of sanctions, Belarus is going to implement new projects in Russia, in particular, to build new ports in the Baltic.
“The President of Russia and I discussed this issue for the last time. Even before this conflict. We are talking about the construction of a port facility. We need our own ports. Therefore, locations were quickly identified. The places are very good. I've already been informed. We'll go together in the spring. Maybe in June. Let's see how construction is going there. Within two years we will have ports there. We will load our cargo there in our ports,” Lukashenko said.
