Lukashenko accused Russia's First Channel of broadcasting fake news about Belarus
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko accused the Russian Channel One of spreading fake news about Belarus. It was about a 40-second story in which the journalist recounted the conclusion of the World Health Organization (WHO) on the situation in Belarus, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Fake from the state First Channel of the Russian Federation. What were they talking about there? Minor testing and so on. As of this morning, 29,5 thousand tests have been carried out per million inhabitants in the Russian Federation. Belarus – 22,5 thousand tests. 22 thousand per million - USA. Let them criticize the Americans,” Lukashenko said indignantly.
He traditionally stated that in Russia the situation with coronavirus is worse than in Belarus.
“We have 18350 people sick with coronavirus. Why should we be criticized? Let them see what's going on. 18350 is three days in Moscow. And we have had so many sick people in three months. What are the complaints against us? But they don't need numbers. They needed to start from something and blame us. They are deliberately starting to interfere in our problems, although I asked: don’t touch us, we are not asking you for anything,” Lukashenko said.
He also criticized the decision of the Moscow authorities to place a hospital for coronavirus patients at VDNKh.
“We do not accommodate sick and dying people at sports facilities and VDNKh. So what's the deal? Did you go the wrong way? They live poorer there, and they decided to hold a parade when it was canceled in certain countries. You understand what all this noise is about,” Lukashenko said.
