Lukashenko declared Belarusians Russians with a quality mark
The peoples of Russia and Belarus are trying to set each other against each other, but no one will succeed.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated this during a meeting with the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, who held this position at different times, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the BELTA agency.
The President complained that the Russian media had launched an “attack” on Belarus and said that no one would be able to separate Russians and Belarusians.
“I don’t quite understand,” I think I’ll have to ask questions to the Russian leadership, “such an attack on Belarus in the media... What’s alarming is that they are already trying to pit us against the Russians. I say this so that you understand my position: it will not be possible to push us – Belarusians and Russians. Not only with Russians. In general, with the Russians. This is not the way for someone in Russia to somehow get dividends from this. Will not work. I already said rudely once: we are Russians ourselves, it is impossible to push us against each other, a Belarusian is a Russian with a mark of quality,” Lukashenko said.
He compared the attempts to pit Belarusians and Russians against each other with what happened in Ukraine five years ago.
“I sometimes ask this question to myself, but today I’ll say it publicly: is Ukraine really missing for some people in Russia? Is it really necessary to create a problem out of the blue?” said the President of Belarus.
