Lukashenko will pay off debts with the help of China

Belarus has signed an agreement with China to provide a term loan in the amount of 3,5 billion yuan (about $500 million), a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Ministry of Finance of Belarus announced this today on its website.
“On December 16, 2019, in Shanghai (People’s Republic of China), an agreement was signed between the Republic of Belarus (represented by the Ministry of Finance) and the Shanghai branch of the China Development Bank to provide a term loan in the amount of 3,5 billion Chinese yuan,” the statement said.
The message notes that the loan is not related to the implementation of any project and can be used for general purposes, including the repayment and servicing of public debt.
