Lukashenko refused to go to Poland without Putin – Rzeczpospolita
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will not take advantage of the invitation of Polish President Andrzej Duda to come to Warsaw for events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the start of World War II.
This was reported by the Polish publication Rzeczpospolita, citing a well-informed source in Minsk.
According to the publication, Lukashenko refused to come because Poland did not invite Russian President Vladimir Putin. Neither the Prime Minister of Belarus nor the head of the Foreign Ministry will go to Warsaw. The country will be represented by the Belarusian Ambassador to Poland.
Earlier it was reported that President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko received invitations to Brussels for the EU Eastern Partnership summit and to Poland for the anniversary of the start of World War II, where Russian President Vladimir Putin was not specifically invited.
