Lukashenko refused to export Belarusians from abroad: It’s your own fault!
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko refused to help his fellow citizens who remained abroad after the closure of borders by foreign countries due to the coronavirus epidemic.
He stated this today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are already shouting loudly: don’t go abroad, stay at home. No, they still push beyond this border. For those who left after our warnings, no charters. Let them sit there if they went there,” Lukashenko said.
He clarified that, for example, he would not take Belarusians from India because “no one will compensate for the losses.”
The President believes that citizens of Belarus can travel abroad only with the consent of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“I understand that there are times when you need to leave. But they are isolated. Let them coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then we will be responsible for them. They report to me: a Pole’s map, the border with Poland. They wander and go back and forth in this Poland, and we meet them and check everyone. We need to give a command to the border guards: if you want to go to Poland, go there and sit there. We need to warn people - no traveling abroad. You’ll go and sit there until the pandemic ends,” Lukashenko said.
Over the past 10 years, 130 thousand Belarusians have received a “Pole card”. The number of work visas issued to Poland has increased almost 7 times in recent years.
