President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko was offended by his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev for suggesting that Donald Trump move negotiations on resolving the conflict in Donbass from Minsk to Astana.

“Someone wants to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. But we need to make reasonable proposals, not funny ones, so that the whole world laughs. It’s not that I don’t believe it, I know that Trump didn’t raise this issue. Some people are itching to discuss this issue and seem like a peacemaker. The meeting was short, there was no time for that,” Lukashenko told reporters (a video of the conversation was published by his official website).
In his opinion, the negotiations in Minsk helped stop a full-scale war.
“I know that this site is not going anywhere. Nobody will go to Asia to solve European problems. We played our part. Whatever the Minsk agreements, we stopped the war. Found a new site? Tomorrow we’ll put all the papers together and take them wherever you say,” Lukashenko said.
