Lukashenko answered a question about anger towards Zelensky
A journalist from the Rossiya-1 TV channel asked the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko why he had a photo with Leonid Kuchma hanging in the Palace of Independence, but no photo with Vladimir Zelensky.
“These are her faults,” Lukashenko replied, apparently referring to his press secretary Natalya Eismont. “We will correct this.” We have good photos."
He assured that he does not feel negative towards Zelensky, who refused to recognize Lukashenko as president.
“No feelings. I don’t hold any grudge against Volodya Zelensky. It’s just that Ukraine has been brought to such a state and locked into some corner that the exit from there is in one direction - only forward. But it’s not possible to move forward. I understand him: in my youth I said something somewhere. But this does not mean that I should look at him all the time, understanding what is happening, or be offended or angry. That's why I have no anger towards him. Our relations are good, the Ukrainian people treat Belarusians very well. We treat them even better,” Lukashenko said.
He assured that relations between Belarus and Ukraine are still developing - thus, as experts predicted, Kyiv’s threat to impose sanctions will not have real consequences.
“As our economic cooperation has developed, it is developing. And the main thing is that I do not harbor any anger towards Volodya Zelensky and the leadership of Ukraine. We have not destroyed the basis and are not destroying it. If something is needed for both Russia and Ukraine, we become intermediaries in the economy,” Lukashenko said.
At the same time, according to him, “diplomatic relations have frozen.” He does not refuse to communicate with Zelensky.
“I wouldn’t look at him condescendingly and with contempt. A young president, a trainable man. Healthy, normal. Maybe some conversation would have started. But I wouldn’t greet him from my knees,” Lukashenko said.
Thank you!
