Lukashenko is concerned about Ukraine and Europe before flying to Putin on the carpet
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko arrived in Sochi, where tomorrow he will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This was reported by the official website of the President of Belarus, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Before departure, Lukashenko held a meeting on ensuring the efficient operation of the country's fuel and energy complex.
“We have gathered to discuss a number of measures to meet forecast indicators and, there is nothing to hide, to overcome the negative trends that have emerged in our economy in connection with recent events in the world and, above all, in relations with Russia,” Lukashenko said .
He explained that he was referring to disagreements over energy supplies and “food wars.”
“Once again, disagreements have arisen on energy issues with our closest partner – Russia. This has been happening regularly for 13 years, despite mutual obligations. Although when they were signed, we were given firm guarantees. For example, this year Russia has committed at the intergovernmental level to supply 24 million tons of oil to Belarus - 2 million every month. In January, 500 thousand were delivered - one quarter. You will report to me what has been done to ensure that Russia fulfills its obligations,” Lukashenko complained.
He ordered that “not a single resident of Belarus, not a single enterprise, should feel the consequences of any kind of maneuvers of our partners.”
Lukashenko is no less worried about Ukraine and Europe.
“We must provide petroleum products not only to the domestic market, as is happening now, but also to our obligations under contracts in foreign markets, that is, the sale of petroleum products to Europe, Ukraine, and other countries,” Lukashenko added.
