Lukashenko is worried that Donbass will finally go to Russia
Ukraine must agree to take unpopular steps in order to achieve the return of Kiev's control over the border between Donbass and Russia.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated this in an interview with the Mir television and radio company, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Not only the president, but the entire leadership of Ukraine must unite and do everything to prevent this war from happening. Take some unpopular steps for nationalist-minded citizens in Ukraine. Hold these elections today and go to the border with Russia so that it is the Ukrainian border. We need to decide on priorities and restore the territorial integrity of the country,” Lukashenko said.
He called on the Ukrainian leadership to hurry up while Russia still agrees to conduct a dialogue with him.
“You can blame Russia as much as you like, but if it at least somehow takes steps in this direction, we must move towards resolving this issue. And take advantage of this chance before Russia forgets this issue and brushes it off altogether,” Lukashenko said.
