The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and the second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma held a meeting, during which they exchanged gifts.

“The parties had a warm conversation and exchanged gifts,” Lukashenko’s press service said in a statement.
In turn, the Russian publication Gazeta.ru provides details. According to the publication, at a meeting on the eve of the New Year, Lukashenko presented Kuchma with a rooster.
“The Belarusian leader presented the second president of Ukraine with the symbol of 2017 - a plush rooster. Leonid Kuchma presented a collection of works by the Italian thinker Niccolo Machiavelli,” the report says.
In addition, the Leonid Kuchma Foundation confirmed the meeting of the ex-president of Ukraine with Lukashenko.
“The President of Ukraine (1994 – 2005) Leonid Kuchma made a working trip to Minsk, where he met with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. During the conversation, we discussed the entire spectrum of bilateral Belarusian-Ukrainian relations, as well as the progress of the Minsk process. Leonid Kuchma thanked Alexander Lukashenko for Belarus’ assistance in organizing the work of the Trilateral Contact Group,” the message says.
